Good, always have a backup plan, even if you've been with a company for years.

Were you honest about the accident?

Maybe tell us what the accident entailed... rear end collision or rollover?

It happened in my personal vehicle about a year ago. I was attempting a left-hand turn on a yellow light. I didn't see the driver approaching. I think maybe they cut around another vehicle to beat the light and that's why I didn't see them. Not sure. The actual ticket was tossed out of court but the accident remains. It was a plain Dodge vs. Camry accident. No rollover. No fatalities. No serious injuries, but the property damage was bad. That's the most serious thing I have on my record.

Prime has become pretty picky as of late. CFI would be a better avenue, IMHO... I'm not familiar with the other companies China mentioned, however.

Best wishes, O/P. I wouldn't put my 'eggs' in a Prime basket, personally. CFI has pretty nice amenities, and they don't charge you for your trucking 'gear' .... ie: loadlocks, tarps, chains, securement, et al et al et al. APU's are pretty standard as well, so I hear. (You can actually idle legally with CFI.) Prime will charge you for them, and the install isn't free, either. Condos pay .05/mile less than those lightweight little things, also.
Do your research, man. I'd go CFI were I you...and/or check out what China mentioned!
Best of luck in battle, no matter.

    Silver and Chinatown Thank this.

From what I've heard they send people home all the time but not for random things. Mostly lying on applications.

There are a ton of prime guys that would know more but I think if you're honest with the recruiter Prime will be honest with you.

You're definitely not out of luck. Look at other companies.

Schneider DQ'd me for an accident I never had somehow and today looking back I see it as a blessing in disguise lol

SNI DQ'd me for a flipping seatbelt ticket in my PV. Blessing in disguise there, as well.

    Silver Thanks this.

There are ten thousand companies to apply to.

Generally a accident in which injury, death, towing is serious enough to go on record. It does not matter what vehicle. Someone is going to be at fault. If YOU were at fault... erf... it's probably going to be a problem if you have not already pulled your own driver report from your DMV at the state records to see whats on it. Other repercussions include insurance rates go up, or insurance is revoked, court trials, suits, unhireability and so on.

I don't know about wanna-be. But it is very easy for a trucking company to sift through 50 appllications and select a driver who has no accidents or problems over one who does.
