KY evidently still does a lot of that stuff by hand. It usually takes them a month or more to cash my check every quarter. I just don't want you to get stuck paying a permit service $30 to file for you like I did. -

Have you looked at your safersys profile to make sure it hasn't gone through? It takes them another ten days or so to mail it after you're approved.

You won't be able to do business with anyone until you have a physical copy of your authority in hand. It took me about 6 weeks to get my authority, but that was a number of years ago. I believe there is a service which will either email or fax you a copy of your authority once it has been approved. There is a fee attached. When you start to do business with a new broker or shipper they will need you to fax or email a copy of your authority, insurance certificate and W9 along with a signed contract they will send you. Just because your authority has been approved doesn't mean that you are ready to do business. You can't even get your base plates and permits without having a physical copy of your authority and insurance. Remember, you will need to pay your 2290 prior to being allowed to tag your truck. There is no need to get in a big hurry. The wheels of government don't move that fast. Some have gotten their authority back in about 3 weeks, but there is no guarantee.
