Simple question: If there was one thing you could change about being an O/O what would it be? In other words, whats the worst part of your job?

There are a lot of challenges to being an O/O, repairs, finding decent paying loads, rules and reg's, etc.... But truthfully, I enjoy the challenge of all that stuff, it's rewarding to solve problems. I guess one thing I would like to see change is availability of fast, reliable wifi and cell coverage.

I would agree with MNdriver, if you have the guts to work for yourself then its worth it and sometimes you make as much as a company driver but the ability to do what you want and no one is really looking over your back that isn't already doing so, sure makes it worth it. Stay mentally strong and be a businessman first has its perks.

I would change a big fat NOTHING! I grew up in trucking and was an o/o at 22. It is survival of the fittest. I just try to keep learning and controlling everything in my power to the best of my ability, as my abilities grow. You get out of it what you put into it. I have had hardships but i learned from them and become a stronger smarter business owner because of those situations. I feel like i could succeed as an independent now, but i know i will be more successful if i wait and learn a bit longer.

The guys who failed were not man enough to see their problem was staring at them in the mirror.....

The guys who are scared to make the jump and learn suffer from the greatest failure disease of all... fear

Go back to 12th, we don't need a ticket. :) You missed three gears. She continued to knit. Loved her so. Hard to explain.
