Landstar told me NO. Here's my situation class A CDL for 40+ years. My last big driving job, I early retired about 4 years ago. 20years 3months and 7 days on the job, pulling oversize and heavy loads on a drop deck but job was intrastate, ran only in Florida. I have flawless driving record for 40+ years, never a moving violation or a failed DOT inspection. I have every endorsement with Hazmat and twic badge. I moved to central KY did a few years of LTL with my own truck (straight truck) then decided to go back otr. Signed up and got hired by big company (red trucks) ran 5 months with them, till death in family brought me off road. I was being paid .40 per mile. I was getting paid .27 per mile 25 years ago. 13 cent increase in 25 years. So I decided to buy my own truck and try to lease on with landstar. Well I own my truck, fortunately I was able to pay cash for it. Now I'm still looking to sign on with someone, or do my own authority route. I'm open to suggestions.
