The way mine is set up is it only jakes applys the foot break when the cruse control is on. In slick conditions you shouldn't be using cruse. it has had some false triggers from bridges and passing trucks. it is a hard break for maybe a quarter second then right back into the power. It is active with the cruse off but only when you are following too close AND the car in front of you is going slower. Even then it only beeps which is annoying but you learn to not follow as close which is a good habit lots of drivers need to learn.
If it wasn't for the ~5 false triggers in 4 months with this truck the system has worked flawlessly.

May I add another step to this?

    4) Once the smoke has settled, be sure to pick up said parts and pieces of destroyed unit, due to evidence being presented to help frame you for using explosives to destroy a safety device on a CMV!:yes2557:

What's needed here is a dummy plug that would plug into the harness instead of the radar unit that wound simply send a continuous all clear signal to the system control unit. No damage and could easily be reversed for time in the company shop.

Sort of like the dummy O 2 sensors guys using headers on their hot rod cars would use to fool the emissions testers.

    94coupe Thanks this.
