Depends on what for. I will say these two things. If you are looking for it to be useful in the future keep in mind that a lot of companies do not recognize Phoenix online because they are for profit and are actually a business. That is just what I know on them. Now I did my graduate work with Liberty Univ. online. Now I do know they offer degrees and certificates etc.
Now there are a ton of them at there. Just examine each on very carefully. -
University of Nevada @ Las Vegas

most colleges are accredited, look for that. for profit or non-profit colleges make no difference.
your own state may have a private college and state universities, check there first.
make sure you select the institution that has the course YOU want, not what they are trying to push you towards. -
One of the mods on here has been doing college/university online while on the road. They've got a thread going about it on here.

WGU and Phoenix both have issues being non-accredited by many employers. My advice is stay in your state! I started at a local community college, then transferred to a 4 yr school in my state. In/state tuition rates are 50% of out of state rates, and most community/junior colleges have transfer guides and guarantees when you transfer to a 4yr. You'll get back the 2k$ a year worth of tuition on your fed taxes for 4 years. Lots of online degree options -
Look for common course numbers in your state- in Texas they call it TCCN. If the course has a "common number" other schools in the state have to accept it as the same course.

WGU is a private non-profit school, it has an excellent reputation and I know several people who have graduated from the school. It is a widely respected in teaching, nursing and computer science fields. WGU is a far different school than Phoenix. -
Stay away from for profit schools like University of Phoenix. Most public, non-profit schools have online programs that are well respected. Don't go into it thinking it will be easier than taking traditional classes because it's not, it's usually harder as you are expected to complete the assigned work in addition to online participation.
I did both, online was great but the instructors don't get the idea that they are teaching working adults, they figure that you have all this extra time since you don't attend physical classes you can take on more work. -
All school are For Profit...
Just look at their Sports Programs!!!
