Only trucking two years but .getting sick from truck and no one else smells it

That won't fix the problem what will is for him to quit.

Not to be mean but no matter what, you either have an issue with the fumes and can't drive any truck or don't understand when to cut your losses and go somewhere else.

I am betting that you will find this a problem with every place you go to and like I said not to be mean, if others can not see the issue or have the problem, then it is you who needs to make the change. That change isn't telling the owner he has some problems but moving to another company or another type of job.

By the way, you were not servicing it, you were doing your pre-trip.

 

Move the heater knob to recirculate and it won't suck air from under the hood.

 

Course it won't fix it, but if he doesn't want to leave this will at least help with leverage on proving there is a problem

 

But there is nothing to leverage, he doesn't see the point that if he was faced with this and others are not on the same truck, then it is on him and him only.

 

You and I things differently I guess. I'm looking at it from a standing of if the boss has proof other than what he's saying that might change his mind

 

I understand where you are coming from but here is what I'm seeing, a driver is complaining and others are not.

The driver can do one of two things, try to convince the owner that there is a defect, with the help of others or leave the company. I know that some people can't get used to the smells in a truck, I knew a few who got their CDL and lasted maybe three weeks, one got the point that she was puking every time she got near a diesel vehicle, not just a truck.

I'm thinking it isn't the owner, other than being an idiot but it may be something medically wrong with the driver and he is not fit to deal with the issues we just ignore.

AND by the way I am not trying to be mean here, but if he continues to drive, gets sick, passes out then it is all on him. not the owner. The driver has the right to refuse to drive the truck, if he chooses not to exercise that right and gets into an accident, well it is on him. I would rather have this driver take a serious look at what it could lead to instead of chancing his and our lives on the road.
