Just read an article in the truckers news paper.
Seems a company in Rhode Island running a 16 axle heavy haul, sent the truck out with a 520,000 lb generator going to I believe Massachusetts.
Problem was, they didn't wait for the permits.
He got stopped on I 95 and shut down.
Not only did it cost the company 60,000 in fees to the state of RI, but they had to redo all the permits, hire a police escort, and RI also hit them with a 57,000 ticket.
So all you guys whining about 200 or 300, think about this next time.
DOT said it was one of the biggest single tickets in transportation history.
After all the fees and fines, wonder if they made any money on the load.
