I have tried this before on here and the suggestions that I got didn't work out.
I am looking for a company to lease on with where I can run how I want when I want. I am not wanting to live in my truck.
I tried Landstar and they said I did not have the experience. They said they don't count containers because of the varying lengths. Ok so they are out.
Then tried Farm 2 Fleet and they said their insurance would not take me.One speeding ticket in my car and one accident in the truck. NOT BILL'S FAULT. He was actually a great person. One day I hope I can sign on with them.
Anyway,
Then I was thinking flatbed but I have no experience in flatbed, nor any equipment. No headache rack or anything. Don't have the capital to get the headache rack and all the equipment.
I am currently running containers in Cincinnati and I hate them something terrible. I would ultimately like to pull a dry van but am willing to do flatbed if I can find a company that will work with me to get all the equipment and not rape me doing it.
Never have and don't really want to do the tanker thing.
So, any ideas? Please no smart#^$ comments.
Thanks to all and be careful!!

To be completely honest with you, a speeding ticket and 1 accident is gonna hurt you in the long run depending on how long ago they were... Landstar requires 1 year exp OTR in Ice/Rainy conditions, and we can already rule out flatbed cause you dont have any exp there. Hate to say it but you might have to go OTR for a few months doing flatbed or If you had a lil money down you could go to lone mountain and get a truck and just do it on your own and sign on with someone like TMC or Danny Herman or somebody like that.

Check out if epes transport hires in that part of OH.

The speeding ticket was just over three years ago. 80 in a 55. The accident was over 2 years ago now. No injury or fatality.
-
hmmm you might be able to get by with the ticket and probably the accident, but a trucking company would have to look at the whole aspect of it. I do know schneider has a really good lease purchase program.. I was gonna do it until I have a family emerg come up 2 years ago.. so you might look into schneider.

How far back can insurance companies go ?? Seems like that ticket should be dropping off soon.....15 over sucks...
Have you thought about Mercer ?? Maybe even their van division. Less start up costs for equipment .... -
Not looking to lease purchse. I already own my truck.
-
Oh my bad misunderstood you there... yeah mercer would be a great place to go! I talked to several drivers there that are very happy with mercer! They are on paper too!
-
I have been hearing about mercer. Didn't know they had a van division. Are they decent?
-
They do have a van division, but very little, most of their loads are flatbed... they do a LOT of military, which you mentioned you didn't have FB exp.. Your best bet is to go to www.mercer-trans.com and call the recruiter cause I don't wanna tell you wrong on something
Beethoven Thanks this.
