depends on miles and hours idle but a good number is about 75 cents a mile in fuel and about 6 cents a mile in maintenance cost the rest of the costs depend on you food &5 a day if u go to wallmart and eat light and $40 a day eating in truck stops and hotel or staying in truck

its $4.00 a gal at 5.5 mpg should be lower than that but its a good number that will cover idle time and what not

and by the way if you haul short trips or construction type stuff the maintenance cost can be about 3 times higher

.06per mile for maintenance? How? I figure tires at .05 on 5axles at 80k, reefer work. Oil and grease at .03 and repairs and that eventual rebuild bring it to a total of .15. Don't forget you gotta pay someone to drive that truck. He might want at least going market rate. Unless you can find some sucker to drive for free.

Your not adding in the FSC, he has it broken down, on his sheet, he is drawing a salary, so when you total the revenue and expenses, it's zero, but included in the expenses is driver pay.
