Operational Software recommendation

    We are a small company of 7 trucks and looking to grow. Primarily we do OTR reefer work but moving into intermodal freight. Can you share thoughts on best software to consider? We demo'd Axon but that doesn't have intermodal. PCS was suggested to us but they have 3user minimum and the sales guy pretty much told us he won't waste time on small companies like us...like really? Any suggestion for a really good software from a company that truly values smaller companies. Ideally we would like it to be web based as well. Thanks

    Forgive the question if its obvious... But, what is so unique about intermodal, that Axon won't work? What do you need the software to do, that it won't?

    For the record, I don't haul intermodal, and I don't use any fancy software... I just pull a flatbed, But I'll be looking into software in the near future.

    We use AXON. Good idea but I don't like it. You cannot dial the contact info direct from the app, you cannot copy and paste from the app, therefore you have to write down the phone numbers manually and then call the customer.
    Sometimes it cannot contact the server for hours at a time, so you cannot get your load info. I checked constantly for 17 hours and missed out on three loads back in early September.
    Our dispatchers send us the load numbers by text message so that we know to look on Axon as it doesn't alert us when new loads arrive.

    Axon was not set up to do the kind of tracking and dispatching you need with intermodal. You still have to use manual work around which kind of defeats the purpose of spending all that money for a software. Axon has a minimum user of 5 as well nd cost nearly $25K. For that kind of money i literally need it to walk on water.I know a few companies that uses PCS but as I stated they are not interested in carrier with less than 10 trucks. Just wanted to see if there is something other than excel and/or access that any one is using for intermodal. Ideally we need to track maintenance, accounting, Payroll, dispatch and IFTA.
