Been asked to find out everyone's opinions on Chevron Delo 600. Mixed fleet with DD15 Detroits, MP8/D13 Volvo, probably a couple MX-13's in there as well as older CAT engines.

Its alright. Ive used it in my pete a few times when i cant get shell and it holds up ok. Seems to drop my oil pressure by around 5 psi in my MX when it gets hot and my oil samples dont show it lasting much more then 8k miles though. So i tend to prefer shell rotella.

I use the 600 XSP 5w-40 by the drum. How does it work? Truck is still running…Works decent in cold weather and I use my bunk heater. Saves money instead of idling. When it gets around 0f I’ll idle though.

Both my 389’s (Cummins) and a T-680 (Paccar) came from the factory filled with Delo so it can’t be all that bad.. don’t remember the exact weight of the oil.
I used it in the Kenworth for two years without any issues. Currently using Mobil Delvac 10-30 full synthetic.AModelCat Thanks this. -

It’s Detroit factory fill. I’ve had no issues running it.
AModelCat and little cat 500 Thank this. -
Worked for a company that was a Chevron lubes/oil dealer. Mixed bag of trucks, some company owned, some PacLease. Full PM’s were at 15,000 miles on the PacLease units. Company trucks they tried catch them around 12,500 miles. No out of the ordinary concerns from a fleet that size.
AModelCat Thanks this.
