FOR SALE: Set of 6 CAT pencil injectors OR8785 pressure and flow-matched. Have about 2000 miles on them before the motor spun a rod bearing:mmad:Repowered the truck with a B model THANKS TONY!!! These injectors work with a dual-scroll 3zj injection pump. They are matched very close by Jim at Diesel Controls, Inc. They are not honed oversized. The pop pressure is matched as closely as possible and the smaller flows are honed just enough to match the largest one. I spent a total of $958.22 plus cores to buy the reman injectors and send them to Ohio to get 'em matched. I would like to have $750 (f.o.b. Lubbock, TX 79415) for the set. If you want to put some pep in your C model, these are the marine injectors you are looking for.

So those are remans? Did you gain much going with the single scroll pump? I know you can't get bigger barrels and plungers for either.

Wouldn't say I gained anything with the single scroll plungers themselves. I don't know what the fuel delivery spec differences are between 7FB and 3ZJ plungers are. I had the B model sitting around the shop, so I took it to Tony Welch along with the C model which was in the truck and out of commission. We were planing to use the pump from the B just for the timing benefit of a 23* advance vs 11*. When we discovered the block was broke where the third bolt for the oil pump goes(mechanic shop here in Lubbock screwed up mounting oil pump)plus the crank was trashed(oil pump sucking air), I opted to rebuild the B instead. He used marine internals with 14.5:1 pistons. I am extremely pleased. The truck is fun to drive. It loves the left lane and fuel mileage is already close to 1 mpg better than before. I expect it to get better as it breaks in and also as I settle down and slow down. I have about 15k miles on it so far. I'd say the biggest gains are a result of timing and lower compression. So, unless your aim is high horsepower, I'm not really sure bigger plungers would produce any effects. I do know you can see good results with Tony's governor mods, but that's another topic. Good luck.

Sorry everyone. Got behind and a little overwhelmed lately. Haven't had any time on the boards. Yes, the injectors are still for sale. DTS Driver, I sent you a PM.

I know this is an old post but do you remember what pistons you were running with the or8785? I have 1061131 14.5 cr trying to find out if that will work.
