Ordering a Brand new Truck what is the down payment?

One of our ex members of this sight ordered a new Freightliner, they kept moving the goal post in to the future. He ended up taking a new WS that was on the lot. The new truck waiting game is ridiculous it seems….

 

Let me know when your's actually gets built so i know about when both of mine will. LOL

 

I will for sure. I hope it really gets built next week but will see.

 

Already gave the dealer the trades but have one extra 2018 i'm going to sell. Just keeping it for a spare, would hate to sell it and then be without a spare for my O/O's or myself.

 

I am in the process of selling mine as well. Unfortunately the transmission has more issues and it is back in the shop. Had it in the shop for 55 days the first time from the stupid tow company issue. So ready to get the the new truck and enjoy driving something with enough room for me.

 

This one has trans issues a year ago but they put a complete new one and clutch under warranty. I let the drivers pick their own colors when ordering new ones, the driver waiting is really starting to whine, doesn't like the color of the one he's using now. LOL So i'm sure the first build will be my spare, not his truck.

 

Surprised someone hasn’t created a futures market on equipment. Somewhere existing orders can be bid on and the option sold.

 

Fwiw, there are dealerships that do have open build slots available. These you don’t have to wait too long to take delivery.

I was offered one on November 16th and ended up agreeing to purchase that day. Build date was January 12th and just enough time where I could change the color which I did. Everything else on the build couldn’t be changed but it was mostly what I wanted anyway.

The only thing I would have changed was the axle ratio but Spicer had a program available for changing it. Spicer will changed out the gears after it’s built but before the truck is titled. You only pay 4.5 hours labor per axle and it doesn’t affect the factory warranty.

Truck was built on January 12th with no delays and I took delivery February 12th. All in all I waited 3 full months from first contact to putting my numbers on it.

If I had deep pockets I could have gotten 6 more Peterbilt build slots with similar timeframes.

Here she is, got her tags yesterday and heading out tomorrow!

Thanks, it’s identical to the one stolen from me in October. I had to get back what I had or else I would just end up angry all the time.
