I graduated from Western Pacific Truck School in the middle of February. Since then I have been dealing with recruiters. I’m under no disillusions that the first year of driving, especially OTR is going to be a fun ticket ride. But would like to make the best of it, and gain some knowledge to make a good decision.

I’m on the list for System Transport, a flat bed company out of Spokane, WA, any information on them would be appreciated, as well what to expect from driving Flatbeds.

The other two that I have been dealing with is May and Swift. Would love to hear from anyone driving for Swift out of the Troutdale, OR terminal. Any input or advice is welcome.
    Regards,

Sorry don't know anything about these company's.

What is your age, do you have bills to pay. If you are not under pressure to make a certain amount of money you should be okay. Don't make any bills either wait till you have been doing this for about a year before you start making bills.

I'll check back to see what others say.

Nothing says you can't go out and look for yourself. Recruiters work for the companies and not you. Find out the trucking companies in your area and then go see them. If they tell you that you have to file on-line that's ok because at least you got to see their yard and maybe talk to some drivers. You never know and if I were looking for a job I would want to use all the resources that I could. You might find a small OTR company that pays real good and has good benefits and they want you because a driver just retired. Like I say you never know.
