    recieved a call from SWIFT recruiter this am wanting to know if I could attend the 06/16/orientation class. I fumbled around a little but readily accepted as I have no OTR experience. Did not want to appear too anxious. SWIFT is hardly my first choice but I need to start somewhere. I have read booth good and bad here and other forums. Just have to make the best of what I've been handed. I o know enough to stay away from thte lease option. Figured I would get throught the first year at least before going there, O/O.

    What does Swift pay? I don't see it listed on their website, which usually means it sucks.

    A greenhorn has to start somewhere. Pay attention during your training and learn what NOT to do. Stick with it 2yrs and you should almost be able to go any smaller company. Good luck and be safe out there... :biggrin_25526:

    Took the SWIFT paid bus ride to Dallas today. Orienation starts in am.

    How long did you have to wait for orientation? I was approved in mid-May, and i am still waiting. My recruiter said Atlanta only opens up a few slots a month.

    I left Road Master 6/04/09. Swift called the following Tuesday and had me seated Friday for 6/16/09. Today was day 2 of orientation. I am suppose to meet my trainer tomorrow and possibly leave out OTR too.

    Fat Trucker, I do not take offence easily but I think you just pushed a button. I assume you were born a truck driver by right of birth. I stand in awe of you have the the inate naturally gifted abilities to drive , turn, and back without any training. My hat is off to you.

    Slick dont let it bother you. Let me tell you, SUPERTRUCKERS like P FAT are everywhere. And they will not hesitate to tell everyone how great they are, and how bad everybody else is. And to say it very loudly, because its known if you can't say something smart, then just say it real LOUD. That is the supertrucker way.
