If I am applying to more than one company, if say my top choice has not made a decision yet, but another company wants me to come into orientation, what should I do? I have thought of three options, but am open to better ideas. Thanks for the help. I want to be professional. 1. Tell the company that is ready to schedule me I need more time to think. I would worry however that they would rescind their offer for orientation if I drag my feet. Still seems like the best way to go. 2. Tell company no, in hopes I get another offer. 3. Tell company yes, and appreciate the opportunity and not look back.
Orientation acceptance.

Set an orientation date for a couple of weeks out, to give your preferred company time to answer. Call the preferred company and ask what the holdup is.
-
Just be honest and tell them you want to wait to hear back from the other compnies you applied to, say perhaps another week or so.
-
Just tell them this is a big decision and one not to made lightly, So then you have to wait for the one you want. I wish you luck, An invitation to Orientation is not being hired they just want to see what you look like and act like. Good Luck.!

Companies are not going to wait till you reach a decision. So I suggest calling the first company and ask them if they're going to prehire you.If they still don't know then take the other job.

Nobody knows but you. We don't know what kind of shape you're in and if you need to work right away. We also don't know what's the difference in the two companies. You have to look at what fits your needs. Patty has the best answer thou, call the company that is dragging their feet and let them know you have other choices. If they say go ahead then maybe they were not the best place anyway.
Chase05 and northoceanbeach Thank this.
