If them pushing back orientation one week sets you off, then trucking isn't for you. You're obviously not ready to deadhead 450 miles STAT to pick up a hot load from a shipper that didn't tell your company that they close at 3pm on Fridays and you arrive at 3:10pm. And the nearest truck stop is 175 miles away and it's been showing red parking on Truckerpath for 4 days straight. Oh yea, THAT is trucking.

If they KEEP pushing orientation back, then leave.

I had to wait a month to get into my last companies orientation. They don't hire many so they do one orientation per month. Take it or leave it.

    tscottme and Prstone50 Thank this.

I fail to see a red flag in this. Things happen.

    Don’t sweat it!
Just chill out and deal with the rescheduling. Something you’re going to have to get used to in trucking..hurry up and wait!

Anyone that says no big deal, I'm with y'all. It isn't like they pushed back weeks or months later.

If they're a medium-size company, I wouldn't worry about it. They may only do one or two classes per week for new drivers, and those can fill up fast. If it was a mega like Swift, then I would wonder why they didn't just offer to send you to a different terminal.

    Prstone50 Thanks this.

Will agree with most of the above -- take a chill pill!

If this orientation pushback is your worst experience with this carrier -- you be smokin' !!! :D

The holiday week of July 4th probably cancelled that weeks orientation. FYI which delayed your scheduled week. This 4th holiday seems like the whole country wants that 4 day weekend ! You know I'm right !

Reefer drivers make a killing on holidays delivering all that food and drink for family gatherings. Freight doesn't slow down for reefer drivers; that's one reason I liked it so much and did it for 18 years coast-to-coast.
