Yeah, your right, DCS is a good start with them. I am a re-hire with JB and my first stint with them, was very positive. I have over 13yrs driving experience and have worked with some of the biggies. Some were good some were absolutely terrible (US Xress). I used to hear about all the "oh oh, here comes a JB driver" back in the day and for the most part, it was true. So when I made a decision to go JB, I was apprehensive. It seems that since they stopped hiring "Newbies" they have come a long way. I was blown away and impressed with them, coming out of orientation. It was long, but they made sure you knew their expectations, when you came out. Huge emphasis in Safety. I can honestly say, that I really enjoyed my 1sr stint with them and so long as you are doing a correct planning and ETA, you should get the hours. If you cannot preplan good, then your planners cannot preplan your next load correctly, finding yourself stuck in some truck stop, competing with everyone else who did not plan right. Then they blame the DM and have a bad taste about the company. But this is the same with any company, you need to preplan to the nearest 1/2 hr as possible and stick to it. Allot of drivers like to make extra stops, or sleep in longer, causing them to lose their next preplan. I only left JB the 1st time, to care for my terminally ill brother. I was a Regional Driver and did good, but always wanted to get on a DCS account, which they did not have available, at the time. I am now coming back in, this time in a DCS account, where I will be home daily. That is my 2cents worth of advise, take it or leave it. Best of luck to those who take it, as you will find out, what I did and that is that they are a good company, for those who want to work!
