I currently work for them. I have never been so disappointed in a company as I am osborn. I drove for Tyson Foods for 7 years before they sold the plant I worked at to Koch Foods. After 6+ more years there I just got burnt out. (Hauled live chickens). So I decided to go OTR. 5 day driving week. Off weekends. I am on my 5th straight week out because I have had so many breakdowns in this absolutely atrocious thing they call a good truck that I can't get my miles in during the week. I broke down 3 times in 18 hours in Chicago when the temp was -23. You pay for scales, tolls, etcetera up front and they reimburse you. Yeah 2 weeks later. I am supposed to get paid weekly. The last 3 weeks I have had to have new checks cut because they keep getting lost in the mail (yeah right). My truck is a 2003 freightliner with 1.2 mil miles on it. They paid less than a thousand dollars for it and spent 6 months making it road "worthy". They were just purchased by Celedon. I have heard (not saying it's true) that celedon is going to cut driver pay. Their equipment is absolute garbage. I have not had heat all winter. I have worn coats and extra socks all year. If I rated them on a scale of one to five I promise there is not a number low enough to actually show how much I detest this company. I'm going to Tyson on April 7. I've only been here 6 months. I will say one good thing about one person. That's my dispatcher. Greatest ever. Gets me loads and let's me go where I want. And in return I pull loads for him no one else wants. He is truly a great guy. But you have to drive out of Montgomery, Al to have him as your dispatcher.
OPUS 7 Thanks this. -
They definitely have some "Loved on Trucks"..I wonder somedays if my truck is junkier,or Osborns?
I would faint if either of us got new trucks

A good dispatcher is everything to me.I have a good one now.Its nice to have someone that shows mutual respect for drivers that give it.. -
Mine is tremendous. I wish I could take him to Tyson with me. Lol. Just a great guy.

Osborn is suddenly all over Craigslist in SC....now I see why. Didn't know about the Celedon buyout.

Out of the first 4 Prostars they received from Celedon 2 had been wrecked and needed work.

I haul for a company that runs honda out of lincoln and I have yet to see these new prostars. Osbourne really does have some horrible equipment. I see them every day when I go pick up my trailer in Lincoln. Cab extenders missing, bumpers hanging off, and one looks like the took the air dam off of a truck that burnt and put in on another truck. I'm not recruiting or anything but there are a few FAR better companies in the area running the exact same freight with a lot better equipment.
Tgrfan89 Thanks this. -
When I was assigned my truck I was flat out told "this is a good truck". Since I have been in it I have had to have the kingpins replaced in both steer tires, the air dryer replaced, the wiper assembly replaced, the back-up light assembly replaced, all 10 tires replaced, over 1/2 the lights, not to mention my power steering reservoir leaks, and I use a gal of oil about every 10 days. I have also seen trailers that have doors in such bad shape you can push your finger through them. I have had multiple trailers rejected at various shippers due to bad floors, missing side rivots, and missing roof supports. Believe me, Celedon didn't buy this company for their equipment but for their contracts. Honda and Hyundai pay well.
They initally received 4 Prostars. 2 were damaged. They were supposed to receive 27 more. I haven't been through Rainbow City enough to notice as I drive out of Montgomery. For that I am thankful. -
That's pitiful. If you want some info on another company that runs for HMA that is in the area I could pm you the info. I don't see how anyone could drive those raggedy trucks.
