Not sure if is the correct group for this question, but here goes= Is it an OSHA requirement for air conditioning to be operational in a class 7-8 vehicle, operated by an employee?

No. But the FMCSA does require the defroster for the windshield to work. They don't care if you sweat.

No. I hardly ever use A/C.

If it has it from factory it needs to work in order to pass a DOT/MOT safety inspection but OSHA doesnt care.....

As far as the A/C kicking on with the defroster, again, the FMCSA doesn't require it. 393.79 only requires a defroster. Incidentally, they do not require a working heater in the truck. Only the defroster.p608, God prefers Diesels, Tb0n3 and 1 other person Thank this. -
