Leave it plugged in for a day with the truck off, lemme know how it turns out for you.

Turned out just fine. I did a 34 and forgot that I had the APU off (it doesn't run unless it needs to but you can override it and manually turn it totally off). Big engine cranked right up. The fridge only burns 1 amp when it's running. And that's not all the time.

APU helps when truck is off.
Some people are going to learn what cold soup and raviolis in a can taste like. And learn what hungry is like.

Progresso soup tastes the same whether it’s heated up or eaten cold out of a can.

Ravioli is just fine at room temp.

    Soup? Meh.

Chili is ok too right out of the can.

But the OP is a salad ( smart ) man. And you can keep the makings for 4 or 5 days of big salads and your dressing, milk, butter, sour cream, tub of cooked chicken breast in the cooler with ice.

I also wanna see you put all that in the itsy bitsy truck fridge.

My fridge is a 3.2cu ft fridge. I have enough room for 2 full gallons of milk plus that gigantic 100oz drink bottle that I use for refills, plus all condiment bottles that I want and a half dozen cold can drinks. I know it because I did it.

And that doesn't even touch the freezer part. My truck fridge holds enough food for me to stay out 2 weeks and buy NOTHING along the way.

To each his own. OP wants to know how to live OTR without an inverter.

    Been doing it for years.
