I always idle and used a 12V fridge bought at Loves. It works great. Problem is: no more ideling, instead opti idel. Will my 12V stay running when the truck is shut off??? I don’t think so, right???

Go buy a 1000 watt inverter at truck stop buy a small fridge at Walmart hang it from top bunk. Or tell your guy you have sleep apnea and they will comply.

Gotcha , I leave my Apu on a timer when ever parked away from home and I'm not in it . When at home I have a IQ Genius 26 amp Battery charger that connects to the post on the frame rail on my Cascadia and its water resistant. Can't remember the last time the fridge was off .

Small problem with that... it’s Crete Carriers. They don’t allow inverters.

Oh well looks like a no win situation. Before I installed the fridge i used my small yeti to keep stuff cold , I did work for USA truck they had 1200 watt inverter and allowed you to bring your own fridge . These small creature comforts go along way .

Correct, I don’t believe the 12v fridges at Loves or Pilot will stay on if the truck is off.

The 12V coolers will stay on as long as there is battery power to supply it. Turning the truck off does not disconnect the 12V plug.

I use the Coleman 12V cooler and it never shuts off unless I disconnect the battery or the batteries get too low.

I have a Koolatronic and same thing. I dont idle and the batteries never get close to not starting because of it being plugged in.

Ok, so I am old and haven't been OTR for a long time. Do drivers not lash soup, ravioli, pasties, etc. to the exhaust manifold and go down the road anymore??

    austinmike Thanks this.
