I'm getting into OTR trucking. Have been a local CDL driver for my own excavating company for 12 years with RGN and flatbed experience. I don't need any training on physically driving, but am looking for what I need to know about OTR. I have done some OTR on my own and have no issues with log books, but it is the other requirements that I lack the knowledge...requirement for bill of laiden, permitting OS loads etc. I will be going into heavy and over dimension with a RGN. I have my own authority, but plan to sign on under someone else. Where/how can I find the info as to what knowledge I need to become an OTR driver.

Question? Why run under someone else's numbers when you have your own. Insurance?

Insurance (I will not be running full time so running under someone else makes more sense) access to better loads, leaving the paper work to them.
