I had a load from Lovell and thought about that once......then I saw all the signs saying trucks restricted heard from drivers at the shipper how bad it was and I believe it says restricted in the atlas too. Riding up to Billings wasn't so bad but crossing SD on 90 is BRUTALITY as far as boredom goes.

Sleep works wonders. If you can't sleep, at least lie in the dark without moving or looking at a bright screen. I listen to podcasts while driving and have a couple trucker buddies I can call up handsfree and talk to for hours. Alot of times I don't listen to anything at all. It took me almost a couple years to get to where I can stay awake like this better--takes time to build up your stamina. Caffeine is a last resort for me. I only use it to get to the next truck stop.

It is not difficult to generate a fault somewhere in the rig that is harmless enough, just don't leave too much sign of your presence too often. I take a battery drill and partially fail the secondary drain valve on the secondary drain tank. I get told I need a new one and its about a few hours time just as soon they thread a new one with loktite.

Well as luck would hae it bad, the recap says I gotta wait 20 hours before midnight to work a full day. I'll go take three whole days and you can put on that long haul onto me.

Melatonin helps you get to sleep, and makes sleep better. Take about an hour before you want to go to sleep.
Staying awake? If you cut out all the toxins you're ingesting. You'll be surprised at how much more control you have. Not energy, but control.

I am not OTR but I run up to 630 miles a day. The key is to take your 30 minute break at the perfect time. Too early and you will want to take another one because how awesome it is. Too late and you will have too much energy to go to sleep. Then, there is coffee, a telephone, and the old trucking classics to listen to.

Its pretty simple really you drive till you can't drive any more then take a break sometimes even a 5 min sleep can make all the difference it does take lots of practice and experience to manage, and can be done with out caffeine or any other kind of drugs.

Naked pic of Janet napolitano on the front left corner of my trailer. Every time I look in the mirror I see it chasing me.
