Everyday. If I worked outside a lot that day, twice a day.

I don't let anything get in the way of my SS&S.

Depends, no longer than a month.....kidding. Every other day at least. Sometimes it's hard to get into truckstops because you may be sleeping at the shipper or consignee. Anybody ever shower at night and walk back to the truck in some sandals or something and step in a nice big puddle of water filled with diesel fuel, urine and othr unknown subtances.....boy that kind of ruins you fresh and clean feeling.

That would really put a damper on my day. I would say going more than 2 days is asking for a really bad case of monkey butt.

I have an inventing kind of mind...lol. I just get bored and start thinkin. If one was to build a shower that could be installed in a truck (and later put out of the way) how many would go for it?

I can see it - but I'm of the male persuasion!

The headache-rack area (behind the cab, where the air-brakes and electrical hookup is) with the water tank mounted above the cab, behind the air deflector.

The water could be heated with a loop of hose coming down to some kind of heat exchanger mounted to the exhaust. You could have gravity feed the shower-head, or the talented would be able to pressurize the tank with air off the truck.

The shower area could be as simple as a shower curtain - let the soapy water wash off the tranny! :biggrin_25522:

I'm confident - from knowing what I look like in the mirror - I won't be looking down through the grate to see some grinning bugger looking back up at me in the shower!!! :biggrin_2559:

Have you thought about the extra weight? My tractor weighs 20,000 already.

I don't drive yet so I don't really have a concept of how big these new trucks are. But I don't think I would want the space in my truck wasted with the showers. I also love a good shower with good pressure. I can't imagine any on board shower would have good pressure. And yes, the weight would be insane since I've read on here about so many people getting tickets for being overweight.

I think I will likely do split..resting/logging.. take the 2 hours sometime during the driving day. That way I could choose a truck stop that is somewhere a long the route and hopefully at a time of day I can get a good pull through spot :biggrin_25525:.

Someone already beat ya to it, it's called a camper's shower. Hang it off the back of your sleeper (usually off the bar for your lines holder), get up on the catwalk (with swim trunks on ) and proceed to take care of business. Yes, you will get funny looks, as I did once when I took a similar shower, at a customeer, with a borrowed garden hose (cold water REALLY wakes you up on a hot day) but it gets the job done (at least in any season othe than winter).

Oh yeah, and to answer the question, as often as I can, but definitely every 2-4 days. I have ran hard enough ( in the past) that I left the house monday (having showered) returned very late saturday needing a shower (not showering all week). In fact, now that I'm home, it's time to catch a shower...

Wow, now that's cool! $18 plus walmart curtain and platic floor mat and 5 gallons of water. That definitely sounds like the ticket.
