Good to know. Seems like all the trucks around here are 30-60k
I wish. Could pull double duty as an RV.

I saw an old Pete like the one you're considering go through Richie Brothers in Dallas for around 14K. I was kind of wishing I had bought it. Then again I don't need another truck.
Just have to be careful when buying from RB auctions. I've ended up with some projects on my hands from buying used trailers and tractors.Oxbow Thanks this. -
Look up a group on facebook.... Semi Truck and Trailer... Buy,Sale/Trade... I see some good deals go through there once and a while too.

30K is high, but that truck will haul freight just as well as a 140K truck will, and It will be cheaper to insure, cheaper to maintain, easy to work on and look good going down the road. With the 18 speed I would buy it in a heart beat. "if it passed a good hands on inspection"
Oxbow, Grubby, Justrucking2 and 2 others Thank this. -
What’s it worth in your eyes? I cannot find any elog exempt trucks that aren’t money pits for less than $25K within 1500 miles.
Oxbow Thanks this. -
Mine might be for sale by 2020. I’ll take $30k if still interested by then. Also depends if California will grandfathered a single O/O for exemption for the 2010 engine. If so, I will keep it instead.

I don't think $30K is a bad deal. It really depends on condition. A real nice truck for under 30K is a hard find... It was my price range too. Once I found the right truck I jumped on it. Pre-E Log trucks are more popular now too.
All the old Pete 379's I see for sale are between $20,000-$38,000. I don't see any with the 18 speed though. Most of those are on the east coast and the lower priced ones have the Detroit motor.Oxbow Thanks this. -
It’s 5 hours away. I plan to go look at it, and a 99 Western Star with a Series 60 in a few weeks. Waiting for my business paperwork to go through. Whichever I buy it’ll be the first truck I have personally bought. The excitement and anxiety is rough.
Oxbow and Diesel Dave Thank this.
