OTR ? Is this legal in times of DISASTER?

Discussion in 'Motor Carrier Questions - The Inside Scoop' started by liltruck, Aug 31, 2008.

  1. With the HURRICANE threatening the US coast here at any moment , is it legal for OTR drivers to assist and pickup riders , trying to evacuate that area?

Can a OTR Company, use there trucks ( Fleets ) to help carry people out of harms way before a hurricane hits ?

    :biggrin_25519:Just wondering ?

The FMCSR says you can pick up hictchhikers if there's an emergency but I think I'd only do it when directed by law enforcement people or the company.
