I have a few months left on my contract with USA and am looking at changing companies. I'm sitting more than driving recently, for the past month I've had a 34hr restart every weekend and didn't need it once. Ive been sitting since yesterday morning and only have 400 miles preplanned till Wednesday.... I've never refused a load, never been in an accident and am always on time or early. I had one incident where I bumped my air fairing like an idiot getting turned around in a tight spot. Its not mangled but its definately not as straight as it was. Ive had three DOT inspections with 0 violations and this company just cant get me miles. I'm on my third fleet manager (same fleet) and not once did they feel it necessary to inform me. only found out when I called (and amazingly they answered the phone) and found out they no longer worked there. Also brings up point of trying to contact these guys is like trying to get the president on the phone. Just not gonna happen.
Anyway that's the background. I'm looking for a decent OTR company. there are thousands of posts on this forum and I can't possibly read them all. Most of the ones I have read would lead me to believe there are no good companies. I live In TN and was interested in PTL (and may still be) but I can't find anything positive about them.
I'm looking for a company where I can hang my hat for several years. Be treated like a person instead of a numbered meat bag. I am interested in a good LP program, but would be content just being a company driver with a good company. I'm not looking to make a million dollars, but I'm pretty sure I can make the same at Taco Bell as I am now hauling 80K lbs around the country. Also I don't mind running the NE but I moved out of that area for a reason. I go up there now and it's like three weeks later I can get free of the area for a week or two.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I don't have, but am willing to get Haz-mat and tanker, but have absolutely no interest in running doubles or triples.
Thanks in advance hope everyone has a happy and safe new year.

not yet, but will when contract expires. Right now I'm just trying to find companies and research them that way when my year is up I'll have a better handle on whats out there. Unlike when I jumped into this field.

no such thing as a good Rip off Purchace program Why dont you learn how to drive while you save some money then BUY a truck, renting a truck is a waste of money and your time. Most company drivers make more "take home" then lease drivers do...
