Not a problem at all--how many suggestions about rotten places to eat would you like on the trip you will be on?
Hmm--starting with cross the barry--north on 130--about 3 miles up(north 295)pull into the T/A--still has the old Buckhorn restaurant inside--from when it was a travelport--food is as old too...
The back on 295--to the cut over to pike and dive into the Petro at Bordentown
Just for starters--can post more on main route--or even add alternate routing for you--for even finer gastro fare!
Just let me know--always like to help out a new driver!
    LMAO

The thing is, just watch the stops.
Local/hourly sometimes sounds good...until you find yourself doing 12 drops and 13 pickups per day.
Dispatch sending you pickups at 12:00 with early closers, and you're behind the 8-ball and still got stops to get off.
Then there's hand-bombs, pushing 2,000 lbs skids around with a pallet jack, freight falling over, etc.
1st stop in the nose, last stop on the tail.
Some of these local LTL jobs are a BIAT-CH!!!
You will come home stressed-out, tired, and pissed-off everyday.
    Been there, done that!
But you've already gone on the route with your ladyfriend, so you should know what to expect.
    BOL to you!

    Marksteven and Jay1000x Thank this.

I drive a trailer dump locally and im doing 17 an hour with 3 years experiance, start at 6 am and go till usually 3-4, PM, but if we slow down they keep me around doing odds and ends in the shop (ill litterally polish the truck for 8 hours), Im home every night (no family though only 21) and im driving a early 90s pete with 550/18.

Local doesn't always equate to home time, keep in mind. Although you know better what to expect and what the intricacies of your local job better than I would. I drove local for a road construction outfit. I put in longer days than a road driver, and if I had a family, they wouldn't have seen much of me with that job, I can guarantee that. I didn't even sleep in my own bed every night - put in a 20 hour day, having to be back at work in four or five hours, and you don't much feel up to the 30 minute drive home, then back again in the morning. It did pay well, though.

$18/HR guaranteed 10 hours? Guaranteed 5 days? Plus, probably overtime if you work it? Take that in an instant! Being home (for me) is worth it, plus guaranteed pay. That's an awesome deal I would think.

Like others are saying, I suggest taking the local job. Seeing your kids growing up is more worth it then seein those miles go up on trips. I on the other hand want to run OTR, I have no family and still young so it's a great time for me.
