Yea they do get treated Very well, my dad only has to sleep in the truck while on the road once they get to the track they pay for hotel rooms for everyone while they're there. 2 Guys to a room but thats still better then being in a sleeper for 4 days at Texas Motor Speedway in July haha

I used to work on a nascar team as a fabricator, it's not all that. After a while it's just a job like any other. I quit and got my CDL's

I would say that you wouldnt never have to worry about your CHECK bouncing wouldnt have to deal with B S shippers recievers DISPATCHERS and have a change to move up in the big leauge ...But this is MY opinion I would in a heart beat but thats just me ....Wish you the best in whichever you chose

The OTR jobs will always be there, where as the Nascar job probably won't. Both will have their ups and downs, but if you like Nascar and the race scene, go for it. Like I said the OTR companies will always be there.

Thats what I was thinking, I was talking to my dad again today about it and I'm going to talk to them and find out a little more info and if it's as good as it sounds I might just do it!

Well I love Nascar and if I was single, I would do whatever it took to get that job...But I do like my family time at home and that's a no brainer...Here in Vegas the Drivers come down the strip b4 the race with all the rigs!...It's absolutely insane to see 50+ rigs rolling down the road all lit up at nite. There's something like 30,000+ people standing all along the strip watching....Those rigs rock! Personally I think you should get some experience 1st then get into it later..afterall it looks like you live in Nascar country anyway so getting hooked up with someone shouldn't be that hard. Some of the venues have some very tight parking areas and only experience will help you there...Just my opinion..do what feels right in your gut....:biggrin_25521:

I'm a HUGE NASCAR fan as well. I'm not worried about backing I'm VERY good at backing, I've been backing 53' trailers for almost 3 years......and boat/utility trailers for even longer.

okay i read just your first post so not sure if it has been said, its seem its like a win win situation to me like you said yourself nascar gig would be your dream job and most likely you ll make more than working for otr company at first, and you ll travel the country little bit too so why not pursuing your dream job if the opportunity is there

Here are some pictures of my dad's trailer. He drives a Car hauler for the Official NASCAR Experience, The Jeff Gordon Racing school and the Mario Andretti Racing school merged together to form the "Official NASCAR Experience"

The Best part is my dad HATES Jeff Gordon and I'm a HUGE Jeff Gordon Fan, and his Trailer Has a HUGE picture of him and his car on it.:biggrin_2559:

The Trailer is 60' Long, 102" Wide, 13' 6" Tall
