Its not a Team, it would be for the Official NASCAR Experience. So there are no free tickets or stuff like that you never get to see a race because they get there before the race so that the fans can drive then they leave just as the race is starting, that is if there even at the same track as a race.
I do agree the bragging rights would be sweet, I don't think any of my Friends could ever top a job like that lol. It also doesn't pay very well. It's $100/day to drive and $75/day working at the track so best case scenario assuming the track there going to is in California thats 4 days Driving at $100/day and lets say 3 days working at the track at $75/day =$625 GROSS before taxes and as far as I know there aren't any benefits. And it has a very weird schedule with weeks on and then a few weeks off and in the fall they get a 2 month UNPAID break. I have bills to pay lol I don't think I could make it on that.

So for my 21st Birthday last week my dad got me a NASCAR Experience at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, NC. I had my dad record the whole thing. You can see his trailer parked behind and to the right of the Ambulance. It was the Best Birthday Present Ever!
Here's the video on My YouTube Channel: For best view, watch it in 1080p HD

My turn!!
Starting at $30,000 a year with 1 1/2 or more months off. TAKE THE JOB!
Break it down a little: The money is good for a rookie OTR driver! A lot of these BFI companies out here have cut pay saying the RATES went down. They didn't not to mention it's sounding like a lot of them are sitting around spending money to feed themselves. They pay your motel and food right? There's a plus in my book! I didn't see where you are married or have obligations. HMMM TAKE THE JOB! The benefits "look" good to me! With these BFI's out here if you get 50 days at home you're freaking lucky! You'll get how much in the off season? 1.5 months? With pay?? TAKE THE JOB even with out pay! So what if it's a 60' trailer as alot of them are with an OL permit! That 7 extra feet ain't nuttin! TAKE THE JOB! Nice shiny truck, truck needs repairs it gets fixed unlike alot of these companies. Word of mouth through the NASCAR crowd could get you into a "better" job. And as mentioned rubbing elbows with celebs?
DUDE!! TAKE THE JOB! The pay is actually better than an OTR rookie job! The savings you'll get from the bennies of Motel and food, Need I say more on that? AND I'll bet you that they pay your clothing as in uniforms. Another bennie! There is NO difference of bumping a loading dock and then driving to another stop. You'll be doing the same thing! Point A to B. You just don't have to screw with moron dispatchers, dock foremen and security guards and then sitting for hours or days waiting for a load! Just make it to where ever and drop a ramp and maybe get to drive the newest in race cars on and off the trailer??? DUDE!!!TAKE THE JOB!!!!
Yeah the pressure of scratching the paint can be a little hard to handle but heck if the doctors said I'm good to go and could drive again I'd be beating your arse into the ground for this kind of cake job! But my days are pretty much over and my wife would use sharp objrcts on small body parts if she knew what NASCAR drivers get to see on the road! OR EXPERIENCE!
This is a no brainer! This job offers you advancements. Where do you get advancements in OTR except for a penny a mile every whenever?? I've been doing this for 32 years! There is NO ADVANCEMENTS in trucking unless you: Buy a truck and start your own company, quit driving and go into the office and become a PITA for the rest of the drivers in some office job like dispatching, brokering in the office which I think they call an LC or whatever or the logs person or safety or a low life recruiter!
Yes, this is your decision. Advice is given freely and what you do with it is yours to make. You asked a question and it's been answered by some and others in their dreams! But the money for now is about the same without the crappy hassles that most rookies are getting beat to death with! If this job were to fall through there will be an OTR job out there. In this case the only differences is what you haul. Do you NOT call a car hauler an OTR driver? Or how about one of those "Horseless Carriage" drivers? They haul ALL of Jay Lenos cars. You will have the fun of not having to screw around with the dregs of trucking like shippers, receivers and lumpers! The same people who could care less if you've been on the dock 24 hours with no food, or could care less if the load is going to be late! Again and I'll be about as blunt as I usually am....
TAKE THE FREAKING JOB DUDE!
Ahh, did I say take the job or not? I went into dreamland about driving anything associated with NASCAR! Now I'll never get the smile off my face tonight or the fantasies from running rampit through my mind! Make a decision before the offer is removed from the table or you'll be kicking yourself for it, knowing that OTR jobs are a dime a dozen but NASCAR comes only once in a select few drivers lives. You can always come over to the dark side of trucking as an OTR driver. You can still sing "West Bound and Down" while driving for NASCAR! But if you don't take the chance everytime you see a single NASCAR truck and trailer or a convor of them pass you by you'll always think"Man what was I thinking?" and watch them drive into the distance wishiing you had at least tried! OTR will never go away! And women LOVE a NASCAR uniform!

The $30k I mentioned earlier in this thread was for the Richard Petty Driving Experience, not the NASCAR Driving Experience which is the one that I have a chance to drive for. They Only pay $100/day to drive and $75/day to work at the track, and there are NO Benefits. There is not NASCAR Uniform either they just where T-Shirts, only the guys driving the cars where Fire suits.
That 1.5-2 months off in the fall is Unpaid as well. And there schedule is very random. You may be out 1 week and then home for 2 or 3. So in a Month you could make as little as $625 GROSS. The most you could possible make in a month is $2500 GROSS assuming you go to CA and back 4 times that month. Which will not happen.
My dad drives for them so as long as he's doing that I'll have a in. His boss told him that they are ALWAYS hiring, guys come in and do it for a couple of weeks try it out then leave because there is Little money and No Benefits. It's more of a hobby job. And yea there is a possibility of moving up into a real NASCAR team job but that would be very unlikely as most of those guys have other jobs for the team (Pit crew/cook/mechanic).
As far as the trucks, they don't own any tractors they rent tractors from Salem Truck Rentals. So every time they go out there in a different truck. There nothing special either they just get Freightliner Columbia's. But the trailers as you can see are very nice. Oh and they don't govern the trucks they get either.
I've already made my decision, I'm going OTR I start Orientation Next Monday with Watkins Shepard. Once I get some experience I might look into it again. Sorry to everyone that thinks I'm making a HUGE mistake, but I've thought about this allot and I'm pretty sure I'm making the best decision for me. I have bills to pay and that just isn't going to cut it at the moment.
Thanks for taking the time to write all this for me Rollover! I do appreciate it.
It's also a Part time job, Not a full time job...
