    I would recommend trying Craigslist. There are often some good gigs posted on there. As far as driving over the road, you don't have to live anywhere near the terminal of your company. For instance if you wanted to work for Central their terminals are in Salt Lake, UT and Atlanta, GA. You would still be able to drive for them provided they run freight through your area. Find a few companies you are interested in and give them a call.
