OTR what's your favorite place to take time off other than home?

Had a week off in SLC. Wasnt planned that way. Truck was broke down. Rented a car and went sight seeing.

 

There's a dirt lot a few miles from Niagara that I stopped at once. Would/will definitely do it again. Peaceful to just sit out by the falls and then plenty of food and tourism nearby.

 

There's a nice little Cat house just on the edge Dalhart.. I like to spend a day there ever once in a while

 

My wife and I have been teaming for almost 8 years now, and we used to have lots of fun 34 hour resets on the road. Of course, as a team you only need to stop for about 24 hours, but that's enough time to rent a car or uber and see what's happening in the area.

Most of these mini vacations happened when we drove coast to coast with Quest (rip). We did a reset once a week, since you can't really run recap on 2000mi hot loads.

We had days off mostly when we were out west, and I love most of it out there. One of my favorites is Twin Falls ID...they have truck parking at a hotel right in town, and one time we even went kayaking on the Snake River.

I miss driving out west, but I don't miss the winters out there.

 

Yeah I used to take mini vacations waiting for road service a few times. Just sat in the truck and drank water all day…ahh good times
