So if he found an actual underage girl he would have been ok?
My only hope is he has SEVERAL large well endowed "gentlemen " as cell mates, that think he's "real cute"
Everyday, for a long time.

 

Please highlight the part of my comment that indicates I have the opinion that it would be ok.

What I am saying is that since there are dozens of apps that spoof phone numbers , As a member of the jury i would need to see some actual evidence , other than a easily spoofed phone number on a text.
Like some documents from the cell
Phone company showing what tower the texts came from and evidence showing the guy was near that tower etc

That said , this guy got sentenced to 20 months for doing the exact same thing.

and again, I don’t think any 13 yr old girl is online looking for action or money with a creepy old man .
That just doesn’t happen.
anytime you ever see that , it’s the cops trolling.

If in fact someone could use another person’s number and do something like this and the wrong person go to jail then this is a problem

I sorta think one day some criminal is going to dump a pee jug from a TS all over a crime scene and the same could be true. The wrong guy getting charged

I use a credit card for every purchase. Not for this purpose but it’s just easier but I use it enough that in a case like this I’d have a pretty good paper trail

 

Don't be so sure, wife who works in drug rehab has an alcoholic mother who was abused as an under 10yo child.

Her father neglected her, the family spent a lot of time with good neighbours, the mother was having an affair with the neighbours husband. The neighbours husband displayed affection and a father figure to the young girl. This young girl was craving attention, acceptance, love. I would not think it much of a stretch in the day and age of computers and I culture, children do not find support online.

If he's looking for sympathy, he ain't gonna find it in a Florida prison.....

He'll be with the lowest of the low, and probably in isolation/special handling for his own safety - until he gets transferred to a Canadian country club to serve his sentence.

Nearly puked reading the 'text messages" wtf is wrong with a 36 year old man with most likely kids the same age speaking that way to a minor. Sad world we live in.....
