Howdy from Tucson AZ. Retiring from 25 yrs of asphalt paving. Will be going for cdl this fall. Looking forward to finding a regional gig if possible. Been scouting western states companies out of Phoenix. If anyone has insight for good companies to drive for,let me know. I could use the info. I found this site a few months back. Has given me great insight into this type of trucking, a bit different than hauling mix. Thanks TTR and the drivers out there.

Best of luck. Nothing beats the smell of asphalt being freshly laid down. You will miss that. I roll my windows down when passing by that smell, then promptly back up to keep it in the truck.
d o g Thanks this. -
I used to deliver acid to asphalt plants all over the USA, but don't remember delivering to Tucson but did a couple of plants in Phoenix. Also that Fuji place just east of Phoenix.
Try these that have western regional states:
KKW Trucking
TWT Refrigerated Service
Western Dairy Transport
Interstate Distribution
Dairy Farmers of America - Sage graduate or 1 yr. experience
Roehl Transport
National Carriers -
Coastal Transport has a terminal in Tuscon & Phoenix. I know in Texas they hired a few new cdl grads. The website has 1 yr. experience required, but looks like they bend their rules when they really need drivers.
