Winco warehouse in woodburn oregon is one of those places thats wont allow you to stay after unloading. Even tho they do have a rather large stageing area outside of the guard station. I have been there done this after being out of hours when finally unloaded, i had to go 5 minutes accross the freeway to the wal-mart and park, yes its even dangerous to do that as i might have gotten hit by a DD but what choice do you have when they tell you to leave or they WILL call the cops? And unless your company files the papers or the police do to get exactly what you did after you unload, driving for 5minutes after unloading isnt going to show up to your dispatcher. Quallcomm will only show you were in that same town, it might show idle time but thats it unless they get quallcom to provide papers to prove it.

I don't think they would consider being unable to stay on someone's property an emergency. I'm pretty sure it would have to be a medical problem, or need to get somewhere to deliver a load critical to some one else's care, or something of this nature. why do you think your company would fire you for being arrested for refusing to drive illegally? if that's the case, why would you want to work for a company like that any way?

Naw i wasnt actually otherhalfw, was just trying to help is all, but it isnt right when a shipper or consignee actually has ample room but says you cant park there, winco wont even allow you there to check in no more than a half hour before your to be there, thats just rude. they have plenty room at their staging area but oh no go park elswhere. jerks.

I understand what you're saying...but I remember when they first opened that facility...they had no restrictions on the parking, then ran into the issue of the parking area filled to capacity 10 or 12 hours before appointments...so to them it is understandably a "catch 22" problem...keep the drivers happy and lose control of the facility, or maintain control of the facility and let the drivers work out their own schedule.
Just look at the parking across I-5 at Wal-Mart...completely filled with trucks all night...then the trucks leave early AM for their delivery IN PORTLAND..kinda screwy 'don ya tink?'

It's just a case of discrimination. P/u or deliver my freight and get the hell out of our town! And dont let the door hit you on your a z z on the way out either!
We dont want you truckers in our town but we, unfortunatly, still need your services! -
Talked to my trucker friend in europe...i guess lots of companies over there are running a fully computerized paperless scheme...the truck simply shuts down when youre out of hours and cannot be moved until the computer decides that you can drive again...

That'd actually be funny to watch the cops try to deal with thousands of dead trucks blocking up everything.
-
Yeah! Well I guess that would alleviate the parking problem in the truckstops wouldn't it!
Working Class Patriot Thanks this. -
If you can get parked before your truck shuts off. Forget about even getting to the fuel pumps, let alone into the parking area. Or out of it.
