Well the recruiter wasn't sure, and ADOT is closed right now, but I figured someone here has to know....
I'm moving to Phoenix in a few weeks and starting CDL training right after. I figured I try to save a few bucks and get my physical now while my insurance will cover it. The recruiter said there's no company policy against getting an out of state physical, but she wasn't sure how the DMV would feel about it. Does anyone know if it matters? I can always get it after I move, but I'll be in a time crunch to get everything settled, and there's a Concentra 3 blocks down the road from where I live now (in Oregon).
Out of State Physical?

most companies prefer their own, you wont have to pay for it the company will. It would be better just towait til you get to az to do it .

Thanks ewill. I might have to do that, I just wanted to try to get it out of the way. I have a limited amount of time to move and get my CDL permit before I'm suppose to attend training, so one less thing to do makes a world of difference. I want to avoid waiting in the doctors office during the 3 days I have to get my permit. I'm sure I'll pass on the first try (been studying for MONTHS), but I'm a worrier!

A DOT physical from any state is valid in any state. You state you're going for CDL training in Az., as soon as you arrive there, right ? I assume you mean with a truck company, so more than likely, that company will want a physical with their Doc. If you're talking about training with an independent truck school, you can already have your physical in hand prior to getting there. ( from any state)

If you have your physical done in Oregon before you leave, go down to the local truck stop and get a Med Card Package. This contains the long form for the doctor to fillout as well as the actual med card.
You will need a med card, either from your doctor or one chosen by the school (which you pay for) before you can actually drive the truck with an instructor.
You can use any doctor from any state, however, when your license is issued, you must provide a copy of the long form to the DMV of the issuing state. -
I'm actually going through a starter company for training, but they accept physicals from approved locations only, which Concentra centers are on the approved list.
