Out of truck for 1.5 years due to illness....

    My dad got sick a year ago and is able to go back to work in sept being out a total of 1.5 years. He's been driving 32 years accident free. How hard is it gonna be for him to get back into it? Out of 32 years he's slept in a truck 5 days a week for just the last 8. The company that he took medical leave that let him go after the 12 weeks. Do they have to hire him back? He is looking to
    go back to work but don't wanna say gone for weeks at a time at his age and after his illness

    Tell him to try Averitt Express. He would be home most every weekend and they have a refresher course, which he may not need since its only been a year and a half. They have good equipment and good benefits and pay pretty good. They also have local, dedicated and regional. Good luck to him.

    Tell him to call South East Carriers. They are based in Lawrenceburg TN. They are a very
    good company to drive for. Probably wont
    have to go thru any training if he has that
    much experience driving a truck.
