Will I have to do the whole 5 weeks with my trainer from Central? Or is it possible to be turned to solo sooner like a week or 2 sooner for example?

It is possible to be turned loose early, but that depends upon company policy, you, and your trainer. It is also possible to have to stay with your trainer past the allotted time if you have some kind of issues operating the truck like needing a bit more practice backing, etc...

You'd be better served asking that question of your company, not here. We don't know what their policy is.

I believe there is a new set of requirements from when Hubby and I went through... It is based on the number of miles the trainee actually drives, not the number of miles the truck goes... So it depends on loads and LEGAL driving time :)

But don't quote me... I'm not a trainer...

Ok because I know I can drive just don't have a cdl yet. Not the best at backing but I can get her in there without any damage.

A newbie saying they can drive a truck usually does it. I personally couldn't care less but those statements usually bring out the cdl police.:biggrin_25525:
