My truck and trailer combination is 70 OAL. My trailer is 51, from nose to tail. According to new mexico and Arizona and I'm sure others the overall is supposed to be 65' or less. Is my truck and trailer supposed to be. Permitted on the non designated highways empty? I have never had it explained nor have I ever had any problems I am just curious.
Overall length

Mine is 78 long, 53 foot trailer, never had a problem. I don't do California.

Good to hear. The way the rules read seem to confuse me lol. I'm not gonna worry about it I reckon thanks for the reply.

Are you asking if you can run around "non designated" roads? Might run into a problem there but I'm not sure. You can run the interstates and major highways. I also believe there is a statement about being able to go x amount of miles from designated routes (1 or 5 or something) I would suggest you just call a scale house and ask (or stop in one) and avoid taking any of our words as the actual law. We are just the gossip

Yea I will prolly call them this morning just to make sure. Thank you!

You have a list of all the scale house phone#'s ?..Now that would be a handy list to have..
I once had a old atlas that listed scale house phone#'s and I used to call them to ask if they were open and if they were open what time they were going home?..
I lost that old atlas and the new ones don't list scale house phone numbers anymore
..I don't know why?
But if you have that list I would sure like to have it again..thxRuthless Thanks this. -
Lol. Well no I don't. But I do have google.

those moving companies run those custom sleeper trucks

I figured out why I wasn't understanding the laws I was reading about overall length. If the trailer is longer than 53' than the total combination can't be longer than 65' so if 53' and under trailer length the overall dosent seem to matter
