Husband/wife teams can make, sometimes $160K per year for each driver.
What if one banked that much each year for 10 years? The other one used his or her for living expenses.

The person you are speaking of just wasn't prepared to inherit that much money. He might be a smart guy, just didn't have the training or foresight, probably like most people in the US who haven't saved anything at all. Also some folks have had the benefit of having parents that have been trying to hammer the saving/investing idea into their heads, others haven't had that guidance at all, and were probably taught instead they were victims and don't have a prayer in the world of getting head.
I have been very fortunate to have parents that understand a little bit about how to grow money and also have friends that know even more that they have introduced me too.Chinatown Thanks this. -
Sorry for rambling off topic. I get excited sometimes.
R&L Carriers is a solid choice for those looking to earn some good money. Definitely husband and wife teams looking to pull doubles for them across the country. "Running wild" as I have heard it called from another poster here on these forums.
I have tried to talk my parents into doing this since they are approaching their final years before retirement. Unfortunately they are not interested. My step dad's father was a trucker and he is always interested to hear about my time on the road, so it's probably my mom not wanting to leave her cozy house. lol
But anyone else interested would probably do very well teaming.
Also even if you are just a single guy looking to earn some good money, you can jump in too, as I have done and haven't been disappointed.Chinatown Thanks this. -

Just to clarify something about job history, and those questions. There is NO rule that says a CDL holder must be gainfully employed every day for the past 10 years. In fact, you are perfectly OK if you want to take a 12-month vacation on a beach in Hawaii looking at girls. You just have to account for that time. It is sad some carriers have policies that seem to mandate full employment. They are misreading 391.21 (b) (10) then using most of the first part of 391.23 to support that misreading. If you have a significant amount of time not working all you have to do is to make a sworn notarized statement from YOU stating why! If a carrier won't accept that go find another carrier that wants drivers bad enough they will interpret 391 the correct way and work with you on getting these periods accounted for. This includes jail, being sick, EVEN being in a drug or alcohol treatment facility (just show you are clean) and has nothing to do with failing a DOT drug test. I know of a guy that took almost 6 months off several years ago to clean up his mother's house and property after she died. He made such a statement and went back to work.
