In hauling oversize who do you guys/gals use for permits? I went through Comdata most recently paying around $220 from OH to KY. Just so happened I knew someone who hauled oversize about the same route and got permit for around $180. Any Knowledge on permits lent would be greatly appreciated.

I used highway permits. Way cheaper than comdata for the same or better service.

depends on the weight and size. up to 12000lbs a flat $135. over that it's figured on the weight and miles. just went through there grossing 145000lbs from I-80 at the pa/oh line to I-275 oh/in line $290.

145,000lbs......alot of weight, What did you pull that with, kw,peterbilt, mack? How much horsepower do you need for that much weight? Do you use a 13 speed or 18 speed? What's it like pulling that much weight?

I've heard that you can get permits on your own without going through a company like Comdata. How big of a hassle would this be if it were true? Anyone know what is all involved in securing your own permit?

it's time consuming,it's done on web sites if you dont know what your doing you could easily get the wrong permits, that why most of us use permit agencies, like permit America.

    aiwiron Thanks this.
