So this morning I got pulled into the scales and weighed. I was just under the GVW by a few kg's. Being relatively new to driving a truck that falls under commercial regulations, I'm curious as to whether or not violations like being placed OOS due to defects or being overweight would affect your personal/commercial driving record/abstract? In the province of Alberta just to clarify.

Yes they do show up on a commercial abstract, any time you have been pulled in or over, even if they only gave you a warning, it will show on your CVR as an RAT. (Requires Attention)
The good stuff shows too, whether you passed a level 1, 2, or 3 inspection.
Just remember when you are talking to an LEO, be polite, they have a direct line to your bank account.

Don't know how long it'll show up for out there, but the good and bad stays on our record for 5 years here in Ontario. If you've got a 3 page 5 year record and it's all(ok, mostly lol) good, don't be worried. That shows you run a tight ship!

I hate Ontario... All the companies require pretty much nothing on your abstract / CVOR

You should see the ads for jobs here, its like

    - No less than 2 accidents in 5 years
    - No DUIs
    - No more than 6 demerits

I guess thats why we have so many idiots on the road.

    Macneil Thanks this.

Wow no ####, eh? Whenever I've applied here they just ask how good my CVOR is and to which I reply good. Then when I give a copy to them, they look over it quickly and say ok, that's acceptable lol.

Your driving record never go's away, if you pull a ten year abstract whatever happened ten years ago will show. Points will come off after two years but the ticket will still show.
I only require a three year abstract here.
