He's yanking your chain; dry humor. Good guy though, so don't take it wrong.

If you've completed the program and are off drugs, no need to mention it because you weren't a DOT employee at the time.
Western Express hires drivers with a cdl-a and no experience or schooling.
This company also has a flatbed division.
As for drug test, I don't know what they do. They're a 2nd chance company for drivers with a less than stellar past. You can call and ask about drug test, but don't use your own phone. Use a public phone or any phone that's not in your name.
Maybe @otterinthewater will let you know about the drug test.

For your hair follicle testing this is how long it last. I have long hair (female) my hair test went back years.

Did I ask if you need hair tested? What are we going to do with hair?

    The opiate is the target.

In interest of brevity, I think the people in a bad position are choosing to simply buy alcohol and drink. Then go to sleep it off and know within a certain time that they can go drive and no one would be the wiser. It would not surprise me if many more people are hitting strong drink as a replacement for pain pills, illegal drugs and so on. Why bother with all that if you can just bottoms up. And sober up quickly enough to take a dispatch.

I was under the impression companies only check back a specified amount of time, I feel if they went back that far every time (years) there would be a mass amount of people putting the info out to let us know. Never heard of any company going back years on a hair test after googling around
