After 11 months running regional I was offered a dedicated run with the same company.
Paid per load, but salaried a minimum. More $ if we did more than 11 loads a week. It got me off sitting at shippers and receivers for hours on end, off mileage pay, and home nightly.
Unfortunately we lost that account, but I was super lucky to get into our Intermodal division. Again a salaried amount for any day I work. M-F required and weekends by volunteer.
If you are uncertain of the particulars try to talk with drivers that are in that position.
