The problem with gold is that it does not compound. It just sits, more or less maintaining the same value (outside of speculative ebbs & flows).

If you buy a company (or a piece of a company via stocks), your money goes to work. Warren Buffett likens it to rolling a snowball down a hill: you started with a small ball, but in time it grew large on its own.

Consider if your forefather bought an ounce of gold in 1776 and passed it down from generation to generation. You'd have an ounce of gold -- cool! But if he'd taken that same $20 and purchased a small stake in Lorillard, you'd be a multi-millionaire. Such is the nature of compounding...

And while not quite Apocalyptic, Lorillard has survived 3 revolutions thus far: from British colonial rule to the United States, then to the Confederate States, & finally back to the United States.

Not sure if that's a stock tip or just an example double yellow, but vaping and ecigs are cutting an increasingly large share of the market from big tobacco. Lorillard makes ecigs but they are junk. For long term I would rather have tech and Tcom than tobacco just my opinion.

I would agree about gold. It's been all over the place on price and way back in 2002 it was at $280 oz.
so yes it's had a run up because of our fearless leaders Messrs. Bush and Obama. spending like drunken sailors. But as a true investment, you are far better off investing in a few great companies.
You really don't need many to hit a home run. You just have to do your homework.
Im glad I don't smoke too. But those ecigs intrigue me.

I haven't read all the replies but if you hope to hire a driver, IMO you should be paying yourself a good driver wage right now. That will solve your retirement problem and your future search for a driver. Also, you should be still making enough business profit to make it worth while to pay a driver.

If you can't do both of those things then you have only bought a job.

I vape as well.I just havent quit cigs all together.if you ever need advice on a advanced setup don't hesitate to ask. I run a online vape shop with a life long friend and have more gear than we know what to do with...

I'm running a sigelei 150w dual 18650 with a kanger sub ohm mini and I have a 26650 hades mech mod with a 28mm asmodus running at .4 ohm and anywhere from 3mg - 18mg nic. Anyhow your right the savings on tobacco vs vaping is trimendous $1 / day vaping vs. $8 a day in cigs that adds up in savings fast...

Regulations for vaping will strangle it just like tobacco and everything else. I quit smoking on 12-10-12 and have been vaping ever since. About to quit that. Already down to .5mg of nicotine hardly any at all. It's a great stop smoking aid. If one wants to stop.

I have been picking the brain of my financial advisor from merriyl lynch and she said being I am 40. If I put away 5000.00 a year into the right long term investments that I don't pay a dime in taxes on btw until I take it out or retire. If I do that 5k for 10yr straight and don't touch it.speculation I should have roughly 590k saved with growth and interest that's a safe 8-10% growth per year .don't hold me to the #s but that sounds appealing to me..

You so need to try the new updated kanger sub tank mini . It has a rebuildable deck as well as replaceable coils and the airflow is great and hits like a beast killer flavor and massive vape production at between 14-25 watts not as much vape production as th atlantis but the flavor beats it 10x over!!! Just make sure you get an authentic with serial #'s and verification code on the box
