You know us Hillbillies can’t compete with New York City area owner ops! I am living on the edge already not getting the draft beer special and eating the free bread and peanuts for my dinner. The wife on the other hand has quite the Bourbon collection.

It helps that we have a good friend that works at Brown Foreman. She still has purchased quite a bit of her collection.

Who uses factoring companies vs waiting to be paid? I’m not a fan of factoring myself but waiting 30 to 45 days from brokerages and 60 days from customers does kind of suck. However, having another hand in your cookie jar I’m not a fan of. Floating these costs as a carrier and certainly as a brokerage as well isn’t ideal but IMO factors can get ####ed telling me how to run my business. People don’t like highway because they know everything but don’t factors know everything also? They are free to sell your info to the highest bidder.

Been using quick pay almost on all the brokers I work with. Always just push for a little more money on loads to cover it.

I just hate that someone else owes me money and can go out of business and I am screwed. I have some control issues because of past experiences with people and companies trying to screw me over. So I just take a little loss if need be to have peace of mind. I would never do factoring since it would be similar issue with trusting them.

I think I had said this before that my brother was in prison for murder and just got out this year after doing 27 years. Had a really hard time finding a job because of that case. He got a junk job because on parole and needed something fast. So he got this job being a cook and lord behold this morning the place burnt down.

This made me think about how you can do everything right and try your best to pay off everyone and something like that can happen and set them back. Now the owners are gonna have to pay every body and figure out how to come up with the cash to do everything. If something like this happened to a broker, whom is gonna get paid? Chances are you might get bent over and if not it might take a lot longer to get paid. And that little bond they have doesn't cover much so not worth counting on it at all.

Not sure if this will play for everyone but this was what was left after it was almost done burning. Was a pretty nice place, not a corporate place either.
