Ok here's my deal, I'm a company driver making 60k a year. I got plenty work if I bought my own equipment. Let's say I would avg 800 a day everyday with days over a thousand. My problem is coming up with money to buy trucks. I would have enough work for about 5 trucks everyday with $800 per truck. Miles would be 400 max per day. ( don't know Desiel consumption). I work for company that hauls for brokerage company which pays me $379 for 2 day trip and they are paying PAC lease on 2014 kw. I was told $800 a day but I seem to think they are getting more then that if they are paying me and truck lease.

Not trying to discourage you. You need to reconsider your plan or should I say really think this out. The expenses for running a truck for a day as well as hiring drivers with good pay including benefits. There is a lot involved in the operation of a trucking business.
Klleetrucking and scottlav46 Thank this. -
Yes maybe slow down , There a lot to owning and Operating Trucks. If you can't figure out how to buy the trucks maybe start with one there costly Me and my brother own 4 and you never know what the day bring in repairs we do have good runs for months then repairs . Good way to get your feet wet is to rent a truck (lease option, not lease purchase, also called a walk-away lease, no penalty). I know that Quality Leasing has such a program and Lone Mountain too (I think). Sure that there are others. Lease Purchase (a sales contract)? NO. Lease Option (Lease/Rent with option to buy)? YES. To see if it fits you and your ability to run a business.
NOTE: Quality requires you to lease on to certain companies. The list is long. Your company might be listed. So many more not on their website. -

The problem isn't getting the trucks, it is getting the $20k per truck as a reserve and finding drivers who won't trash the truck.Bean Jr., passingthru69, Klleetrucking and 1 other person Thank this.
