If I read this right, 40 hours without sleep?

Then it is simple, we don't need this on the road. Don't care what the excuse is, you have a cdl, you know the rules and if you want to be a slave, then find a job at BK or Taco Bell.

"Hell maybe even a little bump of meth when I really need to pull a long one."

Word of advice, its better to keep quiet and let people think your dumb rather than remove all doubt. Do as you please on your home time just know if you get popped at the right time your life is over

There is SO much fundamentally wrong with the OP's plan I don't know where to start except I'll be ###### if I did this for a lousy $500 a week! I'd go back to being a company driver pulling Tanker locally and going home most if not every night.
All that to own a pre-owned Cascadia and make some mega carrier rich. unbelievable!
You're just another example of what's wrong with this industry today!

If he wants to be an owner-op that's fine.. He needs to set his standards much higher than $500 per week after expenses, Your right, its folks like the OP that mega-carriers and freight brokers lick their chops for.

OP, You need a Plan in life for starters.... Trucking has too many "Drifters" already making us professionals with families, responsibilities and assets look bad.

Drop the trailer. Pull forward. Tell em to wake you up when they're done loading. no big deal. It's sad the class of driver or rather lack there of we have out here today.

500 a week as an O/O. Holy ####balls batman. Thank god he's never actually going to become an owner operator.

Why don't you just say what you really mean? You don't wanna work. Call up Obama he'll hook you up with some free money from those of us with work ethics.

I know a few owner ops that only pay themselves 500$/week, rest goes into maintenance/break down funds and reserves. My ex coworker(unmarried and no mortgage on his house) only paid himself .18 a mile till he paid off his glider. Now he only pays himself .25 but dumps a ton of money into his paying off his maintenance facility, which is a huge metal shop complete with tools and living quarters.

That's great, but that's not what we're dealing with here.

What we're dealing with here is an oversized child who wants to do everything his way, but doesn't want to put in the work or take on the responsibility to make those options available for himself. FFS he's complaining about getting loaded on his 10 hour break.

    Wth!!!!!!!!

I just got robbed from the tittle I thought this was gonna be a post about the cool places to take time off on the road. Its been a long winter and now that its over I should get me a load with some time on it that goes though Vegas!

Who's with me on hijacking the OP's thread and turning it into a where we go for a little R&R thread? He's been up for 40hrs, doesn't know how to say no to the carrier, and thinks going O/O with 15k for a down and no emergency fund with a used emissions truck so can net $500/wk is the answer, common really we know this is headed towards disaster anyway.

So is Vegas the ultimate place to take time off on the road or what?

OK maybe I'm not suited for long haul driving. I was just brainstorming a plan. I think for the time being I'll stick to local driving in Phoenix. I average more per hour anyway.
